Take Beautiful Photos in Sherwood Forest

Who We Are & What We Do

Sherwood Photos is for people who are passionate about photography, love the tranquility of Sherwood Forest and the great outdoors in general.

Our mission is to make a photographic chronicle of Sherwood’ both the National Nature Reserve (NNR) and the surrounding countryside, which was once part of a much larger Royal Forest.

We savour the changing seasons: the fresh greens of spring; lush foliage in summer; autumn mists, the way snow turns bare branches into a winter wonderland.

Start Capturing Beauty

Our events include photographic courses based around field trips into the heart of Sherwood. We believe that learning is discovering, so every one of our courses is an exploration. Our guides have professional credentials but the atmosphere is always casual and lighthearted.

Barefoot Photography

You don’t need expensive kit or be an expert to get involved. We use all kinds of cameras to take photos. And participation means more to us than megapixels. The bottom line? Enthusiasm is more important than equipment so we take the bare minimum of kit. We call it barefoot photography.

Mobile Photography

Smartphones pack pocketful of photographic possibilities. We run courses for people who want to explore what their phone can do. And we love selfie-sticks because putting yourself in the picture is part of making your memories of Sherwood unforgettable.

Kids, Dogs & Getting Around

Children are usually welcome, as are well-behaved dogs on leads. We’ll be frank: although we stick to waymarked paths, getting around may be difficult if you use a wheelchair. But we’re happy to discuss routes that are less likely to be rutted, wet or muddy.
